Guaranteed Transfer Admission to UW–Madison

Start at any UW campus and transfer to UW–Madison through the Universities of Wisconsin Guaranteed Transfer Admission Program (GTAP) — if you meet all requirements.

📌 Key Requirements
  • Enroll as a new freshman at a UW campus (after high school).

  • Submit the Declaration of Intent to Participate.

  • Earn at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and 2.0 GPA in the last term (per UW–Madison calculations).

  • Complete 54 transferable credits (junior standing).

  • Meet UW–Madison admission standards and apply by the deadline.

  • Show proof of high school graduation.

  • Complete the following:

    • Algebra, Geometry, and College Prep Math

    • Two years of the same world language (or two college semesters)

    • UW–Madison general education courses (e.g., Communication A, Quantitative Reasoning A & B, Literature, Sciences, Ethnic Studies, etc.)
